Leith Corn Exchange, Edinburgh
Refurbishment
Client: Sharkey
Tender Value: £146,000.00
Programme: 28 Weeks
The works comprised the alteration and conversion of a listed building in the
Leith area of Edinburgh. The building was being converted to form offices for a
prestigious communications group and the quality of workmanship had to be second
to none.
Our works involved the strip out of the existing internal finishes to return
the building to its original shell, while preserving much of the original charm
of the original building. The main feature of the project is in the main hall
where Ritchie Brothers constructed a feature mezzanine floor with striking
effect.
Working in collaboration with a number of trades, the project was a complete
success and remains to be one of the most recognisable buildings in the
Edinburgh skyline
