Ritchie Brothers (Scotland) Ltd Awarded Best Roads Contractor 2007

On Friday 22 June 2007, at a ceremony hosted by West Lothian Council we were delighted to accept an award in recognition of our hard work and achievements in the Considerate Contractor Programme.  We were awarded Best Roads Maintenance Contractor 2007 following on from our success in the same category in 2006.

West Lothian Council was the first local authority in Scotland to launch a partnership scheme with all contractors working in the area.  The scheme was designed to improve safety and quality of work, protect the environment and structure of the surrounding roads and to minimise inconvenience to road and footpath users.  The scheme has delivered significant improvements reducing unnecessary disruption generated by works and the response from the public has shown that the Roads Authority and contractors like ourselves now give much more consideration to the quality, safety and timing of all the work we carry out. 

We have worked hard to maintain and exceed the standard set by the Considerate Contract Scheme in 2006 and we are delighted that this award has recognised our achievements and efforts over the last year.
